Event Review: DMEA 2022
DMEA, Europe's leading event for the digitization of healthcare, wrapped up successfully with around 11.000 trade visitors, 500 exhibitors and 300 speakers from around the globe. The event demonstrated current developments and products, education and training and industry networking formed a program with various congress, training and networking modules.

13:25 p.m. - 02:00 p.m. | Telemedicine in Germany: Challenges, Opportunities and Solutions in a Developing Market Over the last five years, the German parliament has passed several laws that promote the digital transformation of healthcare in Germany. This regulatory support – combined with the fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic – has increased the demand and supply of telemedicine services. Accordingly, telehealth is set to become an important element in healthcare in Germany. In contrast to other countries, Germany has taken some time to open up the digital health market. For companies already active in the digital health sector, the market in Germany is attractive because they enjoy a “learning-curve-advantage.” However, the legislative foundations for telemedicine in Germany are currently evolving and the reimbursement and certification conditions of such services need to be understood to be successful in the EU’s largest market. The novel possibilities have attracted the attention of companies from other European countries, which are taking advantage of the market opportunities by offering innovative health care solutions and new business models. Therefore, we have a large number of delegations from foreign countries at DMEA 2022.
