German Travel and Tourism Fully Recover from Corona Dip
Overnight stays in Germany’s travel industry in 2024 were more than in the final year before the coronavirus pandemic 2019.

Germany’s Federal Statistical Office says that there were 496.1 million overnight stays last year. That set a new record and represented a 0.1 percent increase on 2019. The number of overnight stays reached the bottom in 2020 with 304.4 million.
The recovery was driven by increased stays in vacation homes and campsites. Hotels and similar establishments also booked rises in overnight stays compared to 2023, but the figures remained slightly below 2019 levels. The same is true of rehabilitation and training facilities.
