Finnish Smart Phone Growth Leader Expands to Germany
Mobile phone refurbishing company Swappie Oy is establishing its Central European logistics headquarters in the eastern German city of Leipzig.

Swappie Oy is coming to the regional German state of Saxony, as an electronics hub. The smart phone refurbishing company will run its central European logistics operations from Leipzig, adding to its locations in Helsinki, Estonia, the Netherlands and Belgium.
Swappie was recently named by the Financial Times as Europe’s fastest-growing company.
“Several countries were under consideration for our European logistics center,” Swappie co-founder and CEO Sami Marttinen told the online platform of Invest Region Leipzig. “The choice of Germany and Leipzig was due to its geographical advantages and existing infrastructure. Our decision reflects our commitment to Germany. Since its launch in 2020, Swappie.de has achieved tremendous success in the German market. Germany has now become one of our highest revenue-generating markets.”
The company was assisted in its expansion by the national, regional and local IPAs Germany Trade & Invest, Wirtschaftsförderung Sachsen and Invest Region Leipzig (IRL).
