Roche spent the money expanding and improving its German locations, which include Mannheim, Penzberg, Grenzach-Wyhlen and Ludwigsburg. Among them were three new Mannheim facilities: a launch center for mass spectrometry, a new office and training complex for global customer service, and a research building for diagnostic production.
Roche Diagnostics Managing Director Claudia Fleischer said, “Our investments are a clear commitment to Germany as a location and also a declaration of confidence in the political direction.”
Germany has launched a new National Pharma Strategy to strengthen the sector as one of the country’s future industrial pillars. Roche says it is also planning investments and expansions of up to an additional EUR one billion in Germany in the coming three years.
