Consulting Services/Accompanying Measures and Technical Assistance, Rehabilitation of Irrigation Infrastructure

Brief description of the Contract:

The project aims at the renewal / rehabilitation of worn-out and partially disintegrated sections / elements of existing irrigation infrastructure constructed on public land and operated by the Irrigation Sector of MWRI. It will be implemented by IIS West Delta Directorate. The Project Area comprises the command areas of El Khandak El Sharky and Sahel Morquos Main Canals which feed Mahmoudia Main Canal.

The Project will comprise two components. Component A entails Branch Canal Rehabilitation Measures which shall be implemented using the Egyptian Competitive Bidding procedure. Under Component B a Feasibility Study shall be conducted on the implementation of pilot plots for promoting modern irrigation methods. Depending on the outcome the pilot plots and/or other specific measures may be implemented under the Project.

The Consultant shall support the project management and monitoring and ensure the implementation of reinforceable design and supervision procedures.
