Works and Goods for Rural Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment (Ajara, Lot 1)

Brief description of the Contract:

• Lot 1 - Procurement of Works and Goods for Rural Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment Programme, Ajara, Republic of Georgia

 

Works contractors may express their interest in participation for one or more of two works contract(s) in five municipalities in rural Ajara. The works will approximately comprise:

• Reconstruction of water supply pipelines including all house connections and water meters, about 110 km;

• Construction and rehabilitation of about 15 water reservoirs, 10 intakes, 5 water treatment plants, 3 pumping stations;

• Reconstruction of sewerage networks including all house connections, about 25 km;

• Construction of about 9 Wastewater Treatment Plants (each smaller than 2000 PE): about 8 vertical flow constructed wetlands (batch feeding of raw wastewater and alternation of used filter beds) and a trickling filter or rotating biological contactor treatment plant;

• Construction of about up to 1000 individual onsite sanitation facilities;

• Construction of 5 new storehouses (one in each of the five municipalities)

The works are divided into two lots (1A and 1B) with similar characteristics (natures as well as quantities of works). 

The project area is predominantly mountainous, with cold winters and with a low population density, involving particular design and construction works challenges.

 

The Bidding Documents differ from the KfW Standard Procurement Documents with regard to the evaluation of Technical Suitability.  The evaluation of Technical Suitability is part of the evaluation of Qualification
