Consulting Services for Project Identification and Feasibility Study - Water and Sanitation Sector

Brief description of the contract:

The main goal of KfW’s activities in the water and sanitation sector in Iraq is to support the local and national authorities in ensuring a sustainable provision of water and sanitation services, adapted to the needs of the growing population, esp. in urban areas.
The principal aim of this Feasibility Study is to identify potential investment projects for German Financial Cooperation (FC) in the water and sanitation sector to be implemented by decentralised state institutions in two of the ten provinces in Southern Iraq. After the identification of a concrete investment project scheme (Stage 1) based on a shortlist of existing measure proposals, Stage 2 of the Feasibility Study aims at the detailed technical and financial assessment of the selected project proposals

Requested Consultant Services:

• The PEA is seeking to engage a qualified consultant to perform the services for Project Identification (Stage 1) and Feasibility Study (Phase 2), including institutional services comprising a preliminary sector analysis for the Iraq concerning an assessment of the institutional set-up for the implementation of the project, with particular focus on decentralisation and shifting of responsibilities from the national to the local level.
