Project
The SCTP makes regular unconditional transfers in form of cash. With the overall goal to contribute to poverty reduction, efforts of the Government of Malawi through enhancing resilience among the most vulnerable households in Malawi, the SCTP supports 10% of households per district, which are both ultra-poor and labour constrained, with regular cash transfers. Since 2018, the SCTP is operational in all the 28 districts. Besides Germany and the EU, the World Bank finances 11 districts, Irish Aid two districts and the Malawian Government one district. UNICEF, among others, provides technical assistance.
Requested Services
- Technical assistance to co-manage the operational and financial activities of the Social Cash Transfer Programme in Malawi, i.e. support the Project-Executing Agency in operational and financial management of the SCTP in all the 28 funded districts as well as at the central level, including support in procurement of goods and services
