Consulting Services, Accompanying Measures for TVET Project

Project

The ‘Project’ concerns the second phase of the project “Support to the Mozambican Technical and Vocational Education and Training Sector (TVET)” and concerns further rehabilitation, extension and equipment of the Instituto Industrial e Comercial da Beira (IICB). The purpose of the Project is to expand IICB’s training capacities and to improve the quality of the training offered there as well as at other vocational schools with the ultimate objective of improving the workforce that is qualified for the Mozambican labour market.

 

Brief Description of the Contract:

The measures to be carried out under the Project are: (a) equipment, expansion, renovation and strengthening of the IICB, and scholarships for female and vulnerable students; (b) creation of infrastructure as well as a financing mechanism for the envisaged teacher training center; and (c) infrastructure, equipment and start-up capital for the service and technology center.

• An Accompanying Measure (AM) will complement the investments provided under the Project. Its purpose is to improve the management and the quality of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) provided at the IICB as well as the Instituto Industrial e Comercial Eduardo Mondlane (IICEM) in Inhambane and the Instituto Agrario de Marera in Marera. The purpose of the AM is to (i) improve the quality of TVET provided at the beneficiary institutions and (ii) to enhance the management of the IICB.
