Consulting Services for Project Implementation, Enhancing Rural Development through Adapted Land Use and Disaster Risk Mitigation

Project Measures:

Massive deforestation in Tajikistan has already led to a drastic decline in forested area and heavy erosion, droughts, landslides and floods are the result, and productive resources continue to degrade. Natural disasters in Tajikistan can be expected to have a particularly severe impact on the poor rural population. The German and the Tajik governments agreed on supporting enhanced rural development and disaster risk management in selected areas of Tajikistan. The project shall be delivered under the framework of German Financial Cooperation (FC), implemented by KfW. The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) committed a grant for this project and part of it will be used for covering the services of an Implementation Support Consultant (ISC) to support the National Social Investment Fund of Tajikistan (NSIFT) in managing the project

Brief description of the Contract:

The ISC shall assist the project partners in the overall management of the project. The main tasks will focus on the provision of technical expertise (e.g. in the field of afforestation and erosion control) and quality assurance, project management support, monitoring and impact evaluation, procurement, and reporting. Consultants should have a track record in managing large-scale financial cooperation projects with focus on rural development, erosion control, joint forest management and infrastructure measures.
