Consulting Services/Project Implementation, Digital Traffic Management System in Serengeti National Park

Project measures:

The Project “Traffic Management for Protected Areas through Digital Solutions” (BMZ No. 2019 6903 9) financed by the German Financial Cooperation through KfW will finance the development and implementation of a digital traffic management system in Serengeti National Park. The objective of the Project is to effectively monitor and regulate traffic in the Park to sustain the integrity of its ecosystems. This is to contribute to Tanzanian-German Cooperation in the Biodiversity Sector: "Effective protection and sustainable use of the natural resources thus increasingly contributing to the economic and rural development in selected Districts while conserving globally important ecosystems”.

Brief description of the Contract:

The Implementation Consultant (IC) procured under this tender shall be responsible for provision of support to the PEA in overall management, coordination, communication and provision of other technical expertise in relation to the implementation of all components of the Project including:

• Conduct required surveys (road, traffic etc);

• Prepare detailed project design including functional requirements of the proposed traffic management system and tender documents;

• Implement tender process(es) in compliance with KfW Guidelines and with all applicable national environmental, occupational health and safety and social laws and regulations, as well as in line with the World Bank Environmental and Social Standards (ESS) including finalization of contract(s) with contractors / suppliers;

• Supervise construction works and supplies as well as ensure compliance with applicable ESHS standards;

• Facilitate stakeholder engagement;

• Support during Defects Liability Period and Closure of Project

• Overall project management support including reporting to KfW
