Project

The proposed project foresees a dam on river Enyau with an appropriately sized storage reservoir to cover dry periods of up to six months and twice the demand of year 2040.

Brief Description of the Contract:

The IMC’s main tasks comprise:

  1. Review of available Pre-feasibility Study and in particular related hydrological, geological, and geotechnical information,
  2. Based on the review verification and/or optimization of project layout as well as determination of additional investigations to complement the already available hydrological, sedimentological, topographical, geological and geotechnical data,
  3. Execution (by sub-contractor), management, supervision, and analyses of additional investigations,
  4. Feasibility design of the project features of a new dam at river Enyau, scheduling, cost estimates, and the economic and financial feasibility of the project,
  5. Inclusion of dam safety aspects, options of multipurpose use (hydropower and irrigation), water transport line routing and options of drinking water treatment,
  6. Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) including Stakeholder Engagement,
  7. Expert assistance to PEA for fulfilling their reporting duties (e.g. on project progress, social and environmental issues etc.) to KfW.
