Investors are banking on Brandenburg's positive development
Mar 24, 2025
Brandenburg remains a magnet for investors: 37 new companies entered the state last year. Brandenburg remained particularly attractive in 2024 for companies in the ICT, healthcare, and transportation sectors.
Investments by industrial companies also play a significant role. The high investment volume of €1.04 billion is impressive evidence of the strong commitment of companies in Brandenburg.
Notable examples include: Mitigant GmbH, founded by former doctoral students of the Hasso Plattner Institute, offers software-as-a-service solutions for the security management of applications in cloud environments and has established a presence in Potsdam-Babelsberg. The biotech company Captain T-Cell is developing an innovative T-cell therapy for the treatment of cancerous tumors. The company is a spin-off from the Max Delbrück Center in Berlin-Buch and has now opened a facility in Schönefeld. The technology group X2E GmbH, a specialist in the development and production of high-performance data loggers, is establishing its own research and development department for the new aerospace sector at Strausberg Airport.
Modern technologies and strong innovations also characterize the growth of existing companies in Brandenburg. The Austrian company Anton Paar Germany GmbH specializes in the development, production, and distribution of measuring and laboratory equipment for industry. The company has now expanded its location in Blankenfelde-Mahlow, south of the federal capital Berlin. Dührkopp Energieanlagen GmbH from Premnitz in western Brandenburg, which operates in the fields of pipeline construction and combined heat and power plants, biogas and sewage treatment plant technology, and air conditioning technology, is implementing an ERP system at its headquarters that makes various business processes digitally controllable. Dryad Networks GmbH from Eberswalde in northeastern Brandenburg is developing an autonomous drone system aimed at detecting forest fires in their early stages and extinguishing them quickly, safely, and sustainably using precision technology.
To ensure continued growth of industry, IT, and other sectors, the state of Brandenburg actively supports strengthening the location factors of commercial space and skilled workers. "The Brandenburg Economic Development Agency plays an important role here with the implementation of the industrial and commercial space concept and the company's services in the area of skilled workers and qualification," emphasizes Dr. Steffen Kammradt, Managing Director of the Brandenburg Economic Development Agency (WFBB).
