Hexagon Purus’ new plant is located on a 83,000-square meter site and will be capable of producing more than 40,000 type 4 hydrogen storage tanks annually.
It’s the third such facility the Norwegian company has opened worldwide this year and follows upon Hexagon Purus’ EUR 12.5 million expansion of its existing site in the western German town of Weeze.
“We’re very pleased to announce the opening of our new location in Kassel,” said Hexagon Purus Executive Vice-President Michael Kleschinski in a statement. “It will play a central role in the further development of Hexagon Purus as a leading manufacturer of safe and reliable high-pressure hydrogen tanks. With this plant, we will have the capacity needed to meet the rapidly rising demand for our hydrogen infrastructure and mobility solutions.”
