Consulting Services for Project Implementation, Construction and Equipping of two Hospitals

Brief description of the Contract:

The Project intends to create a hospital network of modern, client-oriented maternity care by constructing and equipping two Satellite Hospitals for the Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital (PMWH) in Kathmandu and build capacity of PMWH as a specialized tertiary care hospital. Efficient and effective referral pathways for maternal and child health are a specific concern. Women’s and children’s medical needs and preferences shall consciously be considered. The project duration is expected to be five years with a horizon for network planning of at least 10 years.

The MoHP will be responsible for the overall Project and will delegate the implementation of the Project to PMWH. A project implementation unit (PIU) shall be formed, which will be the principal point of contact of KfW and shall be assisted by an International Consultant throughout project implementation. The tender in question concerns the selection of this Consultant (to be understood as an interdisciplinary team of long-term and short-term international and national consultants). The bidder shall partner with a local engineering firm accredited in Nepal. The tender refers to a total budget of up to EUR 3.06 million.

Applicants shall provide references related to hospital design, hospital management, service delivery related to health systems, decentralisation in Health (governance), ESHS GESI in health.
