Forest and Biodiversity Management in the Himalaya” programme supports the Government of Nagaland in the effective and sustainable management of Community Conserved Areas (CCAs) in selected landscapes in Nagaland for improved connectivity and conservation of biodiversity, while supporting forest dependent communities in their livelihoods.
The broad objectives of the programme are:
- Adaptive conservation planning at the village, CCA and landscape level is strengthened.
- Effective biodiversity management in the selected landscapes by community-based institutions according to the plans developed.
- Improved livelihoods and income opportunities of the communities in the targeted areas are based on conservation principles.
- Capacity in biodiversity conservation of the different stakeholders is strengthened
Qualified consulting agencies (alone or in cooperation) with proven regional expertise are invited to submit applications
